Message from the President
Peak Woo, MD
President, NYHNS
After a hiatus of presence on the web, we are updating the web so that all members can access the web as to meeting place and time. As I take over the role also of web administration this year, hopefully we will have a current site.
The society has grown nicely under the leadership of many of our past presidents. I remember well as a junior attending in 1983 driving down from Syracuse to attend the lectures of Dr. Jatin Shah, Dr. Connelly, and Dr. Biller on Saturday mornings in the fall and winter. It was just the best learning experience. Those were terrific heady days where head and neck surgery as a specialty was in its infancy. Since then, we have seen the continued evolution of care of head and neck cancer evolved into a multidisciplinary model. This is reflected in our society’s growth to include radiation oncologists, oncologists, and pathologists. We are blessed to be in NYC where great talents in Head and Neck care continue their legacy. I am honored to serve this year.
For the coming year, the executive committee has taken the best and brightest of topics that should be of interest to the clinical head and neck physician.
Please look through each of these meetings and come and support your society.
In today’s challenging medical environment, we are continuously being asked to do more with less. One easy tendency is for the sacrifice of the evening meetings of the New York Head & Neck Society, so as to complete the amount of daily work that is now our routine. I would urge each and every one of you to avoid this temptation and come and support the society and renew friendships and fellowships. It will be well worth your time.
Sincerely yours,
Peak Woo, M.D.
President
